Kwame Opoku scored a last-gasp winner as Asante Kotoko secured a 2-1 victory over True Democracy, booking their spot in the 2024/25 MTN FA Cup semifinals.

The Porcupine Warriors took a 13th-minute lead through Saaka Dauda's goal, capitalizing on a quick throw-in to slot home the opener.

Kotoko had another chance to double their lead when they were awarded a penalty after Kwame Opoku was fouled in the box. However, Justice Blay's penalty struck the post, keeping True Democracy in the game.

The miss proved costly as True Democracy equalized in the 62nd minute through Isaac Botchway's free-kick, which deflected off the wall and wrong-footed Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Mohammed Camara.

Just when the game seemed headed for a penalty shootout, Kwame Opoku scored a stoppage-time winner in the 93rd minute, sealing the victory for Asante Kotoko.

Kotoko will now face Berekum Chelsea in the semifinals, with the winner advancing to meet either Attram De Visser or Golden Kick in the final.
