Former GFA capo, Kwesi Nyantakyi has spoken for the first since FIFA banned him from all football-related activities, saying his colleagues at GFA had a hand in his ban.
The erstwhile GFA President this morning made a revelation on Net 2 Television that his working colleagues at his former administration wanted him out and they paid Tiger Eye Pi led team to investigate him.Â
On his side what the Tiger Eye Pi team led by ace Journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas is doing is rather to enrich themselves and urged Ghanaians not to believe in their work.
"My own members at the GFA sponsored Anas Aremeyaw Anas with an amount of $400,000 to investigate me."
"What Anas did was a sponsored investigation".
Kwesi Nyantakyi became the President of the GFA in 2005 after succeding Nyaho Tamakloe. He had occupied the seat for the past 13years before an investigation was carried on him by Tiger Eye Pi team which led to his ban by FIFA from all football-related activities.
The said investigation (Number 12) was aired on the 6th of June 2018 at the Accra International Conference Centre and in the video, Kwesi Nyantakyi was seen in the video taking $65,000 (£48,000) a figure which has consistently disputed from an undercover reporter.Â
According to FIFA, the act by Nyantakyi broke its code of ethics and the Adjudicatory Committee found him guilty of having violated Article 19 (Conflict of Interest), Article 21 (Bribery and corruption) and Article 22 (Commission) of the FIFA Code of Ethics, 2012 edition.
