John Boye is a Ghanaian defender who plays for French football club side Metz.

Date of birth
Boye was born on April 23, 1984, in Accra Ghana and is 31 years old.

Early football career

Boye started his career with Schwepps' youth academy, he later joined Pro Consult Sports Academy and Miracle FC.

Hearts of Lion


The tough-tackling defender moved to Hearts of Lions in 2005 where he made 10 appearances, he was later loaned to French side Rennes.

Rennes


In 2009 Boye joined Rennes on a permanent deal he made a name at Rennes after making 63 appearances and scoring twice.

Kayseri Erciyesspor


Rennes sold Boye to Turkish side Kayseri Erciyesspor, the defender appeared just 23 times for the club, he later moved to Sivasspor.

Sivasspor


Boye after the 2014 World Cup he traded clubs again and joined another Turkish side Sivasspor, he played 51 times for the scored 7 times.

Metz


On 21 June 2018, Metz officially announced the capture of John on a four-year deal, keeping him at the club till June 2022.
He has already made 5 appearances for the side.

International career


On 17 June 2008, Boye was called up for Ghana, making his debut on 22 June 2008 against Gabon. Boye was included in the Ghana national team's 23-man squad for the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations in January 2012 and he made his tournament debut in the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations match against Botswana on 24 January 2012.

He was part of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations team that took a silver medal after they lost to Ivory Coast in a 8-9 penalty shoot out.
