Manchester United beat Premier League champions Leicester City 4-1 at Old Trafford on Saturday to record their first victory in September.
Having suffered three defeats in a row, United needed a win badly and boss Jose Mourinho made changes to the regular starting line-up dropping captain Wayne Rooney from his starting line-up and partnering Ander Herrera with the under fire Paul Pogba in midfield.
It took 22 minutes before a Chris Smalling header put them ahead.
Juan Mata added the second in the 37th minute after finishing off a slick move.
Marcus Rashford and Paul Pogba both scored from corners in the 40th and 42nd minutes respectively to give United their first 4-0 first half lead first since 2001.
Leicester got a consolation through fine long-range strike from Demarai Gray who had come on for Jamie Vardy at the start of the first half.
