The President's Cup between Accra Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko has been called off midway through the game due to a rainstorm.Â
Referee William Agbovie was left with no choice than to call off the game in the 78th minute following a heavy rainstorm that made it difficult for the game to continue.Â
The game ended prematurely with a 1-1 draw after Hearts came back from a goal down to equalize in the second half.Â
Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Sports Minister, Isaac Asiamah and other dignitaries were among the first people to leave the stadium when the rain started.Â
The game after consultations with the Ghana League Club Association(GHALCA) could be scheduled for tomorrow.Â
Meanwhile, both teams exhibited some great football with each half shared equally in terms of possession.Â
Kotoko took over the game after the ceremonial kickoff was done by the Vice President. The Porcupine Warriors outplayed their opponents and managed to get a goal courtesy Saddick Adam's expertly converted penalty in the 26th minute.Â
Hearts came back strongly in the second half to equalize in the 50th minute through Vincent Atinga.Â
The Never Say Die spirit was in full flight as they mounted pressure on Kotoko to get a winning goal. Luckily for Kotoko, the rain set in to save the day.Â
Fans are looking forward to seeing their teams back in action for the giant trophy at stake.Â
