Prosper Narteh Ogum has lavished praises on Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Ibrahim Danlad following his heroics in the 0-0 stalemate against Berekum Chelsea.

According to the Kotoko coach, the U-20 AFCON best goalkeeper is a 'player-coach' on the field. He said the shot-stopper is a very confident lad and a good organizer of his defence.

"... excellent performance and very confident. he is a player-coach on the field. that's how I term him. He is able to command the defence line to be able to tell them what to do. When he have the ball he is able to coach them to create the necessary spaces. When we don't have the ball he tells them to do the markings and tacklings clean," he said.

Ibrahim Danland saved a controversial second-half penalty as Asante Kotoko played out a goalless draw with Berekum Chelsea in the Ghana Premier League on Saturday.

Danland stopped Stephen Amankonah from giving the home side the lead with less than 10 minutes left to extend Kotoko’s unbeaten run to six games.

Chelsea were awarded the penalty after a Kotoko player was adjudged to have handled the ball in the box, but television replays established that referee Jones Akubiem erred.

The penalty was by far the best chance of the game as both teams struggled on the poor pitch at Golden City Park in Berekum.

The draw means Kotoko will end matchday 13 on top of the table, while Berekum Chelsea remain in the bottom half.
