Pro-Vost of Regional Maritime University, Engineer Augustus Addey Lamptey has stressed the need to engage in regular fitness exercises to the body healthy.
The University in keeping with this has embarked on a Health Walk as part of activities to mark its 10th Anniversary.
The walk which started from the school’s campus at Nungua(Nautical) went through some principal streets, ending in the Nungua township for an aerobic session.
The over one-hundred participants took the opportunity to educated the public on the benefits of regular keep-fit exercises and the progresses chalked by the school over the decade
Speaking after the walk, Mr Addey Lamptey revealed other activities to mark the occasion include a clean-up campaign and public lectures.
He implored patrons to join in the other activities to make them a success as well.
Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Elvis Nyarko in a brief history of the school said it was established in 1958 as a maritime training institute. It was transformed into an academy in 1983 and a University in 2007.
