Milovan Rajevac names Black Stars squad for AFCON 2021

Black Stars coach Milovan Rajevac has named a 30-man provisional squad for next month's AFCON 2021 to be staged in Cameroon.

The Black Stars will open camp in Doha, Qatar on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 ahead of the 33rd edition of the AFCON.

The team will be in Doha for a period of three weeks to prepare for the Tournament scheduled for Cameroon from January 9 to February 6, 2022.

The Black Stars will play three international friendly matches in Qatar to give Coach Milovan Rajevac the opportunity to assess his squad for the Tournament.
 

GBC acquires free-to-air AFCON 2021 rights

The Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) has secured the exclusive free-to-air television and radio rights of AFCON 2021.

A statement said "Ghana Broadcasting Corporation informs the general public that GBC has acquired the exclusive Free-to-Air TV and Radio broadcast rights of the TotalEnergies 2021 Africa Cup of Nations which commences on the 9th January to 6th February for Ghana in English and all Ghanaian languages."
 

GFA announces date for the second transfer window

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) through a statement have announced that the second transfer window will open next year.

In a statement, GFA said that the second transfer window will open on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 and will be shut on Thursday, February 24, 2022.

The country's football governing body also confirmed the International Transfer Window and the Domestic Transfer Window will be opened on Saturday, January 1, 2022.
 

This is how much biennial World Cup would bring in revenue

A biennial World Cup would generate in excess of £3.3bn in additional revenue over a four-year cycle, delegates at FIFA's global summit have been told.

FIFA has proposed the change as part of a revamped calendar.

All 211 member associations were invited to the summit as the debate over Arsene Wenger's plan to double the frequency of the World Cup intensifies.

UEFA, Europe's major leagues and South American football's governing body Conmebol have opposed the plans.

GFA launches 'Ghana Football App'

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has launched an innovative app that allows football fans to stream live Ghanaian matches, receive exclusive news and updates on Ghana football in real time.

The launch took place at the Headquarters of the Ghana Football Association on Monday, December 20, 2021.

The app dubbed “Ghana Football App” is available to download on Google Play store and Apple Store. It provides information on upcoming matches, standings, real time results and updates across all Divisions of Ghana Football including, Juvenile League, Women’s Premier League, Division One League, Premier League, and National teams.
