What a way for Gladson Awako to announce his presence for his new club, Hearts of Oak after the controversies in recent weeks.

The former Great Olympics captain on Thursday, December 15 finally made his debut for his new club and he really smashed it.

Awako who joined the Ghana Premier League champions from rivals Accra Great Olympics in August has not yet featured in any Hearts of Oak game prior to the Elmina Sharks.

According to Hearts of Oak the midfielder has not been in action since his signing due to "some difficulties that prevented him from playing football."

But checked revealed all wasn't well between the player and the club and it had to take the intervention of Ga chief from Teshie, Teshie Gbugblah Oblahiaaa Mantse (Youth Chief), Original Nii Martey Laryea I for the player and the club to smoke the peace pipe.

The player then returned to training last month and has been keeping up sharping his arsenals.

He was given the chance to show why Hearts of Oak signed him and he grabbed it with both hands.

Hearts of Oak have been struggling to win to their get their 2021/22 Ghana Premier League campaign going.

Prior to Wednesday's game, Samuel Boadu's side have never picked up 3 points in their opening games.

However, they turned their fortunes around at the Nduom Park against Elmina Sharks.

Awako who came off the bench scored within 7 minutes after coming on.

He unleashed a fierce drive beyond the reach of the goalkeeper to secure a vital win for Hearts of Oak.
