Black Stars B forward, Joseph Esso is happy with the experience gained from his first tournament in the WAFU 2019.
The Hearts of Oak striker had his first opportunity to feature in a major tournament with the National team where he scored two scored in the competition against The Gambia in the first round and against Senegal in the final and he also set up Shafiu Mumuni’s first goal of the competition against Burkina Faso in the quarter-finals.
The former Ebusua Dwarfs attacker is looking forward to build on the experience gained in Senegal.
“As an upcoming player, getting to play in my first international tournament says a lot. It will improve me and it will enhance my career going forward,†he told ESPN Africa.
“I look at the team and I can say that we gave off our best during the competition.â€
Ghana lost failed to defend their title won two years ago after losing to hosts Senegal 3-1 on penalties after the game finished goalless after 90 minutes and 1-1 after extra time.
Coach Maxwell Konadu and his charges will this week play the return leg of the Championship of African Nations (CHAN) qualifier against Burkina Faso, a game the Black Stars must win to qualify for the competition in Cameroon.
Ghana lost 1-0 at home in Kumasi in the first leg game.
