Asante Kotoko have lost their opening game in the CAF Confederation Cup against Sudanese side Al Hilal.
A 40th-minute strike from Waleed Hamid for Al Hilal was enough to separate the two sides at Omdurman.
Kotoko's coach C.K. Akonnor pushed more men forward to salvage a point at least but it was too little too late as the host began the opening game with a victory.Â
The two sides will meet again in matchday on March 10, 2019, at the Baba Yara stadium.
Earlier in the day, the all Zamibain affair in the other Group C match saw Zesco United defeated Nkana FC by 2-0.
The results see Zesco United top the table with same points are Al Hilal whilst Kotoko and Nkana lie 3rd and 4th respectively with 0 points.
