Wayne Rooney has been warmly welcomed by his Ghanaian teammate defender Kofi Opare to DC United ahead of the English forward's MLS debut.
Kofi Opare met the England all-time top-scorer in the dressing room after the English forward's departed from his boyhood club, Everton, to join the MLS club Dc United.
Kofi Opare, who was overly excited on being a teammate with one of the greats in football history tweeted," Welcome @waynerooney to @dcunited @mls. Looking forward to playing with you. @ Washington, District of Columbia."
The 27-year-old Ghanaian was awarded DC United's defensive Most Valuable Player last season after putting up superlative displays with the Washington club.
DC United are 11th on the Eastern Conference table and will hope the addition of Wayne Mark Rooney will turn their fortunes around ahead of the 2018 campaign.

Wayne Rooney signed a three-and-a-half-year deal with DC United.
He left the Premier League as the second-highest goalscorer with 208 goals, superseded only by Alan Shearer with 260.
