Accra Hearts of Oak has asked its supporters to stay united behind the club as they compete in the Confederations Cup after their painful defeat to Wydad Athletic Club in the CAF Champions League.
The club in a statement said it was a great learning experience for the team and they promise to rise above their current disappointment and make a mark in the Confederations Cup.
Ghanaian champions Hearts of Oak was yesterday kicked out of the CAF Champions League after suffering a humiliating 6-1 defeat to Wydad Athletic Club, WAC.
The results over two legs have seen WAC progress to the Group Stages of the competition after completing a 6-2 aggregate victory over the Phobians.
Hearts of Oak had a slender 1-0 advantage prior to the game and their hopes of making it to the group stages of the CAF Champions League in well over 10 years were dashed when they conceded three goals in the opening 20 minutes.

The Moroccans raced to a 4-0 lead by half time through goals from Msuva, El Hassouni, Dari and Jabrane befor adding a further two in the second half, with Patrick Razak scoring the consolation for the 2000 CAF Champions League winners.
Wydad booked themselves a place in the group stages of the competition while Hearts of Oak will now compete in the final round of qualifiers for the group stages of CAF’s second tier inter-club competition, the Confederation Cup.
