World's oldest professional footballer Kazuyoshi Miura today turned 52 years.
Kazuyoshi Miura who is a Japanese was born on 26 February 1967 currently plays forΓΒ Yokohama FC in the J2 League.
He played for the Japanese national team from 1990 to 2000 and was the first Japanese recipient of the Asian Player of the Year award in 1993, an award presented annually by the Asian Football Confederation.
Miura holds the records for being the oldest footballer and oldest goalscorer in worldwide professional leagues at the age of 50.
The former Japan international is currently playing his 34th season as a professional with the J2 League club.
The veteran won 89 caps for his country during a 10-year international career between 1990 and 2000, becoming Japan's second-highest ever scorer with 55 goals.ΓΒ
