The President of the Ghana Football Association, Kurt Okraku has congratulated Keta Sunset Beach Soccer team for their success over the weekend which is a signal of good things to come during his administration.
The Beach Soccer team paid a courtesy call on the GFA President to present trophies and medals Sunset Club won at the Copa Lagos 2019 Beach Soccer Tournament over the weekend.
Keta Sunset, the three-time reigning Ghanaian Champions won Africa's most prestigious beach soccer club Invitational title scoring a tournament record of 23 goals including a 15-3 demolition of the Pepsi Football Academy.
Kurt Okraku acknowledged the team's effort and assured them that he remains committed to his pledge to develop beach soccer.
"Your victory is a signal of many good titles to happen to football in this country and for Beach Soccer to take led is even more important to us.
"What this means is that if we give everybody attention will not only be winning one, two, three, four trophies maybe hundreds and you have set the pace."
The GFA President further thanked Ghana Beach Soccer sponsor, Cal Bank for remaining solidly behind beach soccer, and urged other sponsors to emulate them and also support football in general.
"Let me thank Cal Bank for their continuous support of Beach Soccer in Ghana. Without their support, beach soccer wouldn't have been where it is now for Sunset FC to make Ghana proud," said the GFA President.
"We want to take this opportunity to urge corporate Ghana to come on board and support Ghana football. It is a new beginning for the GFA, corporate Ghana and all stakeholders of Ghana football."
Present at the ceremony were GFA Vice President, Mark Addo as well as Executive Council members, George Amoako and Nana Oduro Sarfo.
