Ghana’s Cyber Security Authority (CSA) says it is investigating the hacking of President John Mahama’s X (formerly Twitter) account.
The CSA confirmed that the breach occurred in the early hours of Monday, March 17, 2025, and was used to promote a cryptocurrency called “Solana Africa”.
In a statement, the authority said it is working closely with X and other relevant stakeholders to address the incident and prevent similar breaches in the future.
“We understand the public concern this incident has generated and are taking necessary steps to resolve the issue,” the CSA said.
The authority has pledged to provide further updates as the investigation progresses.
Meanwhile, President Mahama has confirmed in a post that his account has been restored
