Iceland's president fell and broke his nose when he fainted – because his bath was too hot.
Gudni Johannesson said he is feeling fine despite being taken to a hospital, where he needed stitches.
In a Facebook post, the 49-year-old said: ‘A warm and cosy bath last night turned out to be too hot and cosy.’
Mr Johannesson is a popular figure in the Nordic country, where he has enjoyed high approval ratings since being elected in June 2016.
The former history professor attended every Iceland match at Euro 2016, sitting with fellow fans of the tiny nation that embarrassed England in the tournament.
His role is largely ceremonial and he is not affiliated with any political party.
Iceland is bracing for a snap legislative election on October 28 after the government collapsed.
