2024 Mid-Year Budget: Gov't to reintroduce road tolls in 2025 – Finance Minister

Finance Minister Dr Mohammed Amin Adam has announced that the government has approved an additional GH¢1.5 billion for settling unresolved claims associated with financial management companies.

Furthermore, he revealed that the government has given the green light for the development of a structure for the reimplementation of road and bridge tolls in 2025.

These announcements were made by Dr Adam in Parliament in Accra on Tuesday during the presentation of the mid-year fiscal policy review for 2024.

“Mr. Speaker, Cabinet has also granted approval for the disbursement of an additional 1.5 billion Ghana Cedis to settle outstanding claims relating to the financial management companies; the establishment of a framework for the re-introduction of Road and Bridge Tolls in 2025,” he declared.

 

He also mentioned that the government has approved “the operationalisation of the integrated property tax system; and the amendment of the Fiscal Responsibility Act and reinstate the numeric threshold that was suspended in 2020.”
