Ghana’s COCOBOD has interdicted some of its workers over alleged fraudulent activities within the organization.

In an encounter with the media - Chief Executive of the Company, Joseph Boahen Aidoo disclosed that there were about thirteen (13) workers within the Cocoa Marketing Board allegedly embezzling funds of the institution.

Mr. Aidoo noted that on assumption of office, he realized that the activities of these fraudulent workers had put the company in jeopardy prompting the management under his leadership to open investigations into their affairs.

He added that early reports from the investigations indicated that the workers were connected to various corrupt practices within the COCOBOD.

Hence, the workers involved have been placed on leave to enable further clarifications, while some others have already been interdicted

Currently, the full investigations are handled by a collaborative effort between the Economic and Organize Crime Unit (EOCO) and CID.
