Mahama appoints Randy Abbey as Acting COCOBOD CEO

President John Mahama has appointed Dr Randy Abbey as the Acting Chief Executive Officer(CEO) of the Ghana Cocoa Board.

The appointment of Randy Abbey was confirmed in a statement by the Executive Secretary to the President, Dr Callistus Mahama.

The statement dated January 21, 2025, noted that the appointment is pending receipt of the constitutionally required advice from the Board of COCOBOD.

The appointment took effect on Tuesday, January 21, 2025.

President Mahama congratulated Dr. Abbey on his new role and wished him success, expressing confidence in his ability to steer the institution effectively.

Dr. Abbey’s appointment is anticipated to bring renewed energy and strategic direction to COCOBOD, a vital organization in Ghana’s cocoa industry.
