The English department of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, KNUST has authorized level 200 students to study the song ‘Things Fall Apart’ by Kofi Kinaata as part of their courses for the first semester of 2021/2022 academic year.
The announcement was made by Voice of Knust in a Twitter post.
According to them, the English department took this decision to include the song as one of the English courses because of the literary devices and lyrical arrangement of stanzas in the song.

In a continuing post, they also mentioned that within the past 6 years, the English Department of KNUST have authorized 3 of Kofi Kinaata songs, Susuka in 2016, Confession in 2018, and Things Fall Apart for 2022, to their students which have proven to be best of literature works

The hit song ‘Things Fall Apart’ was released in 2019. The song was sung in Ghanaian language ‘Fante’, it talks of religious hypocrisy and it was produced by Two Bars.
The song since its release has received millions of streaming on all musical platforms.
