Ghanaian socialite Andrea Owusu known to showbiz as Efia Odo has declined an invitation to join the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

She said she will only join any political party when the country is in a good condition.

The actress in recent times has been tagged as a member of the NDC by many netizens after taking part in the activities of the pressure group, FixTheCountry.

FixTheCountry is not affiliated with the NDC but the group's opposition to some of government's actions and policies has led many to think they are affiliated with the opposition NDC.

Efia Odo has always maintained in all her interviews that she is not a member of the political party.

However, on Monday, October 1, 2021, the Actress questioned the vice president Mr Bawumia on the weak fundamentals of the exchange rate in the country.

She wrote: “if the fundamentals are weak the exchange rate will expose you. That was true then and it’s true now – VP Bawumia. $1 is now 6.1 cedi, who’s being exposed now?”.

Since it’s not the first time she has questioned the sitting government on a pressing matter, one Nii Amala offered that she joined the NDC to join the party's cause of holding the current government to account.
