Ghanaian hip hop and hiplife artiste Stephen Kwabena Siaw, Ayesem has asked the media to stop questioning him on why he does not have a collaboration with his fellow Takoradi singer Kofi Kinaata.
According to Ayesem, all his attempt to get his brother the ‘Fante Rap God’ on a song has proved futile.
Speaking on Connect FM, Ayesem maintained that Kofi Kinaata has failed to give him an answer on why all the various approaches he has made for a music collaboration with him have failed.
“I resolved not to speak about this again but yet people [fans] kept asking. Kofi Kinaata is a brother, we go far back, and if he claims I have never sought him for cooperation, then I don’t know, but it’s up to you guys [media] to find out. You may ask him the number of songs that I have given to him for cooperation but he ended up not giving me a good answer,” Ayesem said.
He further disclosed that an unknown source filled him in that his choice of song was a problem but he’s yet to confirm from Kofi himself.
“The first song was “Fante a na Meka” since we were all in Accra at the time, he was thrilled and even brought some ideas on board but didn’t hear from him again. But I got it from someplace that he stated I don’t use the appropriate approach but I don’t understand the right method he was talking about if he wants me he doesn’t have to contact my manager [Shocks] we deal straight.”

“I have done my best but there were no favorable answers from him. The last one was when the coronavirus began [2019], I phoned him for cooperation but he informed me that he has destroyed his studio and if things fall in place then we would be able to do something together and that is what am waiting for, I don’t know if it will be this year or next year,” Ayesem explained.
However Ayesem taking all his efforts into account has vowed not to ask his brother for a collaboration again, he believes if it’s bound to happen then it will.
“I made a pledge to myself not to seek him for a partnership but we are good. I don’t need another artiste to be at the top even though it’s normal in our profession. He has to man up and tell me to the face that he doesn’t want to undertake cooperation with me. Even the song that propelled me to popularity, I had no other artiste on it but I created it. But regardless, Kinaata is a brother and we still vibe together.”
