Ghanaian actress, model, film producer Yvonne Nelson has vowed never to stop criticizing the government no matter who’s in power.

The actress during former President Mahama’s regime led a demonstration in Accra ‘Dumsor Vigil’ to signal the government of the frustrations of Ghanaians in the intermittent power supply.

Speaking on Asaase Radio on Tuesday, February 8, 2022. Yvonne mentioned that during that time she was threatened for leading the demonstrations but that won’t fright her to do the same with the current government in power when things escalate.

According to Yvonne, after the demonstration she feared for her life so she had to move in with a friend to hide because she received threats from the opposition party then, to be killed for her actions.

“The threats were so much that I didn’t even sleep at home, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) were threatening to kill me,” Yvonne said.

I wasn’t afraid at the time when I did the dumsor protest until I started receiving death threats”, she continued.

She also added that currently she’s been updating her Twitter page with things that are of displeasure to Ghanaians in general.

Yvonne maintained that she’s a patriot of her country and her aim is to make sure the government does what’s right by its people.

“I will forever remain this way [patriotic] when I’m not happy about something in politics, politicians, or something around government,” Yvonne added.

Yvonne Nelson is currently having a media tour for her annual valentines day movie "The Men We Love" which will be premiered at the silver bird cinema in Accra on February 14, 2022, at 7 pm.
