Ghanaian music producer and politician Mark Okraku-Mantey has disclosed that for the tourism industry in Ghana to improve, Ghanaian creative people should portray themselves as ambassadors for tourism automatically.
In a one-on-one conversation on Hitz FM on October 4, 2021, the Deputy Minister for Tourism, Arts, and Culture maintained that creative people already have huge followers and viewers so it will be easier for them to be able to convince foreigners to visit Ghana through their contents.
He mentioned that he was not very happy with the utterances of self-acclaimed Dancehall King Shatta Wale when he described Ghana sometime back as a village.

He added that the US-based Ghanaian social commentator Twene Jonas instead of selling Ghana positively so that more people will visit the country, he rather says negative things about the country which he believes does not really help the tourism industry in Ghana
He further noted that provided an individual person is a Ghanaian, he or she should be able to sell the country positively.
This, he believes, will help develop the country’s tourism industry.
