West African Examination Council (WAEC) has disclosed that over 600 students who took part in the recent 2016 NOV-DEC examination results has been put on hold for engaging in examination malpractices. The council has however released results of 128,707.
In a statement, WAEC clarified that the results of the said students will be released after the Council rounds up its investigations into the cases of misconducts
The statement read “The results of 668 candidates alleged to have been involved in various examination malpractices have been withheld pending the conclusion of investigations into the cases of malpractices. The withheld results will be released as soon as the Council concludes its investigations,â€
The council also urged all accredited educational institutions to be vigilant and scrutinize the certificates of students before giving them admission.
To solve the problem of fake results presented by some students, the statement clarified that “Forged results can be detected by the confirmation/verification system or via www.waecgh.orgâ€
