St. Peters SHS has qualified to compete in the final stage of the 2018 National Science and Maths Quiz, after defeating Volta Region schools, Mawuli School and Keta Senior High Technical School.
 The second contest of the Semi-final stage of the competition ended in great jubilation for students of St Peters SHS, as they lead the contest with 9 solid points, despite a bad start.
After much intrigue, the contest ended with St. Peters SHS winning with 35 points, Keta SHTS scoring 26 points, and Mawuli School scoring 22 points.
The two schools will return in the 2019 edition of the National Science and Maths Quiz as seeded schools.
St. Peters SHS will, however, compete with Adisadel College and the winner of the last contest for the semi-final stage on Thursday.
With the introduction of the GCB Bank's Money Zone, each point of the competing schools at the semi-final stage is worth Ten Ghana Cedis(GHS10), which will be paid out to each of the three contestants and their teacher.
Thus Mawuli School received an award of GHC880, Keta SHTS received a total of GHC1,040, and St. Peters was awarded GHC1,400cedis and an additional GHC1,000 from Bond Savings and Loans.
The Semi-Finals stage of the competition is ongoing today, Monday, July 2, 2018, with one more contest to go.
For the third contest, West Africa SHS will compete with Krobo Girls' SHS and defending Champions Prempeh College to qualify for the Grand finale.
The Grand Finale of the NSMQ 2018 will be held on Thursday, July 5, 2018.
