The Ghana Police Service will on Thursday, March 6, 2025, temporarily close some public roads in Accra as Ghana commemorates its 68th Independence day anniversary.
According to a statement signed by Grace Ansah-Akrofi, Assistant Commissioner of Police Director, Public Affairs, the measure is part of the security arrangements for the anniversary parade which will be held at the Jubilee House.
The affected roads include
- Liberation Road at Opeaibea Intersection
- 37 Intersection towards the Central Business District, (CBD)
- Independence Avenue at Ako-Adjei bypass Jawaharlal Nehru road at switchback road and
- Presidential drive around the Jubilee House will be blocked at Hammond road at TV3 junction and Kanda link
The statement announcing the roadblocks urged motorists to be advised and make arrangements and plans for alternative routes before embarking on their journey.
These roads will, however, be re-opened after the event.
