Justice Afia Serwah Asare-Botwe has ordered all lawyers and parties in the Ato Forson trial to desist from commenting and offering analysis in the media or in written form on the evidence offered during the trial.

Her Ladyship issued the order during proceedings of 11th day of July, 2024. Her Ladyship in the case of the 3rd accused, Richard Jakpa, said in her order that his interviews on radio and television are prejudicial to the trial and national security.

Per the order read in court by the learned Judge, given the openness of proceedings via a streaming link by virtue of an order of the Chief Justice, there was no need for analysis of the matter without making value judgements.

Her Ladysip per her orders cited the need for the protection of the sanctity of the trial as the basis for her orders.

Next Adjournment

Proceedings were adjourned to the 18th day of July, 2024 for the cross-examination of subpoenaed witnesses being the Chief of Defence Staff, Lt. Gen. Oppong Peprah and the Military Secretary, Air Commodore Adu Gyamfi.
