The Deputy Minister of Railways Development Mr Andy Appiah-Kubi, says he was disappointed with the performance of DSP Samuel Azugu when he appeared before the Emile Short Commission on Monday.
DSP Azugu who is the head of SWAT was at the Commission to testify to the violence that occurred at Bawaleshie during the Ayawaso by-election.
DSP Azugu's performance on the day was not satisfactory according to some Ghanaians and the highlight was when he was asked why his men who stormed Bawaleshie wore mask.
DSP Azugu surprisingly explained to the Commission that his men wear mask sometimes to prevent them from mosquito bites but on the day of the by-election, he did not know why they put the mask on.
This the Deputy Minister in an interview with Class FM describes his performance as not satisfactory and embarrassing.
“The answers he was giving shows he doesn’t even know what he was doing; he needs to be given more training. I felt so embarrassed listening to him; giving an answer to why the men were wearing mask . . . there could be a reason for doing so but I don’t know why he was giving such lame excuse; that they were trying to prevent mosquitoes . . .â€
The Ayawaso violence is still been probed and more witnesses are expected to appear before the commission.
