Experts deployed to help KumAca students deal with death trauma

Counsellors, Religious leaders and Medical experts have been deployed to Kumasi Academy to help students of the school to cope with the trauma of the death of 4 of their colleagues.

Four students have been reported dead in the school after having similar symptoms which led to unrest in the school.

Some parents have also been reported to have stormed the school to send their wards home.

Speaking to Starr FM on Tuesday, the Ashanti regional Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Education Service (GES)Cassandra Twum Ampofo said the situation at the school has been normalized.

“We know on Wednesday they will be writing their internal examination and we all know WASCE is also ongoing and they need to be stabilize first to be able to study hard and write their exams”.

She has called on parents and students home to come back to school for academic work to continue.

“They were not willing but now they are willing after we brought out this statement w have assured them that everything is stabilized now, we want to use the opportunity to appeal to parents and students who are home that they should come back to school for academic work we haven’t close down Kumasi Academy”.
