The Awoemefia of the Anlo Kingdom and President of Anlo Traditional Council, Togbi Sri III have taken turns to congratulate new Yaa Naa of Dagbon Abubakari Mahama.
Dagbon last Friday elected a new Yaa Naa after seventeen years of conflict over who becomes their ruler.This news came as a joy for the indigenes who have lived in fear all these years due to the conflict.
The Anlo Traditional Council also congratulated the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II for his role in drawing a peace road map for the Abudus and the Andani's which has led to an agreement and the selecting of a new ruler.
In a statement released by the Anlo Traditional Council, they said they were hopeful that the new Yaa Naa of Dagbon will bring peace, development and prosperity to the Dagbon Kingdom. The rituals to enskin the Yaa Naa are currently ongoing in Dagbon.
A curfew has been imposed on the people of Dagbon currently. This curfew is to ensure peace reigns in Yendi until the rituals for the enskinment of the new Yaa Naa is completed.
