The Greater Accra Regional Minister, Linda Obenewaa Akweley Ocloo is set to embark on a working visit to the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) on Thursday, February 20, 2025.

According to an official communication from the Greater Accra Regional Co-ordinating Council, the visit will include a tour of Rawlings Park and Katamanto, key commercial areas in the Central Business District and is expected to assess the extent of recovery efforts following the fire outbreak that occurred in January 2025.

Speaking to the media, Head of the Public Affairs Unit at the AMA, Gilbert Nii Ankrah said the visit follows intensified efforts by city authorities to restore normalcy in the affected areas, where traders and businesses have been grappling with the fire's aftermath.

He said the Minister’s tour was expected to offer firsthand insights into the challenges faced by affected persons and inform government interventions to aid their recovery.

He pointed out that stakeholders, including city officials and local business representatives, were expected to engage with the Minister during the visit to discuss progress and ongoing measures to revitalise the affected commercial areas.
