Chief Executive Officer of HEC & HARDYSÂ a health consult, Benjamin Adu, says hypertension and diabetes are still on the rise in the country leading to preventable deaths.
He reiterated the call on the public on the need to exercise regularly, practice healthy lifestyle and regular medical check-ups.
Adu, who was speaking to the Ghana News Agency at a free health screening organized by the consult in Ho, said, out of over 300 people who were screened, about 50 per cent was suffering from diabetes, hypertension and prostate diseases.

He said early screening and detection could prevent a lifetime dependency on expensive medications, permanent disabilities among others and urged the people to take advantage of such outreaches.
He cautioned against late eating and recommended eating of vegetables and frequent in-take of water.
