The former Rector of the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration [GIMPA] says he is not fighting with the Vice President as reported by the media
He is rather being a citizen and not a spectator by voicing his observation and asking for them to be addressed.
Prof Stephen Adei is quoted in the media to have said the Vice President’s convoy is long and that he will not shy away from embarking on a one-man demonstration if it stays same as the one he saw with 16 vehicles on the Accra-Cape Coast road.
The Vice President in a rebuttal insisted he used seven and not 16 cars. “It should, however, be noted that on many occasions (including funerals) while on a trip, several other people, including the Police Commander of the area, Ministers, MPs, MMDCEs, CEOs and party officials may decide to meet and accompany the Vice President on arrival", a statement from Bawumia's office said.
Speaking in a radio interview on Wednesday, October 18, Prof. Adei asked the presidency to reconsider the length of convoys, because even if all the vehicles did not belong to the veeps detail, they needlessly disrupted traffic flow for the ordinary Ghanaian who does not have the luxury of a motorcade.
Prof. Adei further denied being the author of statement circulating on social media in which he purportedly accused President Akufo-Addo of running a family and friends business.
