Minister-designate for Monitoring and Evaluation, Dr Anthony Akoto Osei has disclosed that he had to resort to teaching prisoners to support himself during his stay in the United States (US).Â
According to him, life in the US was not a bed of roses as many envisage and he had to improvise to make ends meet during his stay.
"In the States, you have to work to make a living. At a point, I was teaching Mathematical Economics in a prison" to support myself, he told the Appointments Committee of Parliament on Monday when he appeared before them for vetting.
Having stayed in the US for his Bachelors, Masters and Doctorate degrees, Dr Osei recounted how he had also work during the summer time to pay through school.
"Summer time is an opportunity to make more money so I worked around Summer time too", he stated.
