The assistant equipment officer of Asante Kotoko, Kofi Asare, has been confirmed dead after the team bus returning to Kumasi from Accra drove into a packed truck carrying bags of fertilizer.
According to reports, Kofi Asare's body has been deposited at the Holy Family Hospital mortuary at Nkawkaw in the Eastern Region.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has described the accident as “devastating and sadâ€.
Management of the club, in a statement, has urged all fans to remain calm and pray for the injured players and officials receiving treatment at the Holy Family Hospital in Nkawkaw.
