Lordina Mahama, accompanied by former President John Mahama, has inaugurated a newly built maternity and children’s ward in Bodom, Nkoranza North District, Bono Region.
This facility comes in response to requests from local traditional leaders, who emphasized the need for improved healthcare access for mothers and children in the area.
The new facility is well-equipped with essential amenities, including a medical officers’ room to accommodate healthcare professionals.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mrs. Mahama highlighted her ongoing commitment to maternal healthcare, expressing confidence that the facility would contribute significantly to safer deliveries and healthier pregnancies.
She also reiterated the Mahama Foundation’s broader mission of making quality healthcare accessible and affordable for all, regardless of financial status.
This inauguration follows the recent opening of a 2,000-square-meter maternity and children’s ward at the Nkoranza Health Centre, as the Lordina Mahama Foundation continues its push to strengthen healthcare infrastructure in underserved areas.
The couple is expected to continue their efforts with another inauguration planned for Atebubu, further expanding healthcare resources in the region.
The community welcomed the new facility with gratitude, seeing it as a step toward reducing maternal mortality and improving health outcomes for mothers and children.
