President John Mahama has appointed Malik Basintale, the Deputy National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), as the Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA).
Basintale, a dynamic figure in Ghanaian politics and one of the most prominent voices during last year’s December 7 Presidential Election campaign, will officially assume his new role on Monday, January 27, 2025.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Basintale expressed his gratitude to President Mahama, tweeting: "Thank you, Mr President, H.E John D. Mahama. We shall not fail you❤️🙏🏽🇬🇭".

Basintale's appointment follows the resignation of Kofi Baah Agyepong, as CEO, who resigned, citing personal commitments and aspirations.
Agyepong described his tenure as “an honour and a privilege” and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to contribute to addressing youth unemployment in Ghana.
