President John Dramani Mahama has ordered an immediate halt to all activities involving the sale, lease, or processing of transactions related to state and public lands.
This directive, issued by Dr. Callistus Mahama, Secretary to the President, in a statement dated January 10, 2025, aims to protect these lands for the collective benefit of citizens and future generations.
The order requires all ongoing and pending transactions to be suspended immediately to allow for a thorough review of the existing framework governing the management of state and public lands.
Additionally, the Executive Secretary of the Lands Commission has been instructed to submit a comprehensive report detailing all recent and ongoing transactions involving state and public lands to the Office of the President within 14 days of the directive.
