Recommendations from National Educational Forum will be put to good use – Mahama

President John Mahama has stated that the ideas collected from the national education forum which kicked off today, Tuesday, February 18, will be put into action.

Speaking at the forum’s launch in Ho, Volta Region, the president indicated that the recommendations would be used in transforming the education sector.

He assured that his administration remains committed to implementing comprehensive reforms to enhance the sector.

“It must be our collective responsibility to make recommendations that are far-reaching, transformative, and necessary for developing the global Ghanaian. As a government, we are fully committed to this process. I want to assure you that your recommendations will not gather dust on the shelf,” Mahama stated.

The President has tasked an eight member committee chaired by former Pro Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast, Professor George K. T. Oduro to organise national educational dialogue

Under its Terms of Reference (TOR), the Planning Committee has been tasked with developing a guiding theme, identifying key stakeholders, and formulating a structured agenda.

The committee is also responsible for selecting a venue, setting up a secretariat, and preparing a budget for the forum.

The other members of the committee are Professor Goski Alabi, Professor Rosemary Bosu, Samuel Awuku, Ph.D., and Professor Smile Dzisi. The other members are Kofi Asare, Stephen Owusu, and Inusah Shiraz.

They have a two-week deadline to submit its report and strategic plan to the president for consideration.
