SEE: Bawumia inspects destruction in Parliament House

The Vice President, Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia today February 1 2017 paid a visit to the Parliament House of Ghana to scrutinize the extent of damage caused by Tuesday night’s heavy downpour that occurred in some parts of Accra.

The Vice President was accompanied by the National Security Minister, Mr Albert Kan-Dapaah.

Parliamentary proceedings yesterday January 31 2017 was brought to an abrupt end after part of the roof of Ghana’s Parliament House building was ripped off by a rainstorm.

Members of the House, considering a bill which sought to amend portions of the Local Government Act have had to leave the main chamber of as water fell from the leaking roof onto the floor.

 

 

According to reports, the situation was so bad that some parliamentary service staff had to resort to placing containers at the leaking spots to collect the water from the ripped roof.
