The Institute for Energy Security (IES) has called on the President to as a matter of urgency, constitute the Board of Directors for the Volta River Authority (VRA).
The energy think-tank is worried about the failure of the President to put together a Board, considering the significant roles of the Board.
The Principal Research Analyst of the Institute, Richmond Rockson, noted "Board of Directors are crucial to the successful running of any company. We know the challenges faced by VRA and it's extremely important this Board is put together. We cannot have management making critical decisions, and we can't also have the Ministry of Energy and Finance doing so.

“There are allegations of deliberately ignoring the formation of the Board to allow government micromanage VRA. As we know, we've no opinion of the Board of VRA concerning the proposed thermal sale because there is no Board." He spoke to Class FM
The Institute for Energy Security also called on the Ministry of Energy, as well as the President to quickly address the issue to avoid a possible administrative breakdown.
