The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has issued a warrant of arrest for Charles Bissue, the former Secretary of the Inter-Ministerial Committee on Illegal Mining (IMCIM).
A statement from the office cited corruption, corruption-related offences regarding the activities and expenditure of the dissolved IMCIM, especially in respect of the seizure and management of excavators, machinery, road vehicles and gold nuggets; and use of public office for profit.
A pictorial representation of the wanted suspect was included in the notice to allow for easy identification and arrest.
He is said to have failed to honour an invitation by the Special Prosecutor to help in investigations, hence the warrant.

Legal practitioner, Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah last week said his client (Charles Bissue) will not be turning himself in because the arrest warrant was improperly secured.
He explained that if the court was privy to all the information including complaints of human rights abuse of Mr Bissue by the Special Prosecutor, the court order for his client’s arrest would not have been given.
