Two more suspects arrested in connection with Pooley's death

The Ghana Police Service has arrested two more suspects in connection with the violent disturbances that occured during the football match between Nsoatreman FC and Asante Kotoko.

The suspects, Isaac Ofosu and Yeboah Augustine are currently in police custody assisting in the ongoing investigation.

This brings to five the number of suspects so far arrested in connection with the incident which occurred on February 2, 202,5 at Nsoatre in the Bono Region.

According to a police statement, an intelligence-led operation is still ongoing to get the rest of the perpetrators arrested to face justice

Meanwhile, Sunyani District Magistrate Court B on Tuesday, February 4 granted Ignatius Baffour Awuah, owner of Nsoatreman Football Club a GH₵500,000 bail with two sureties.

The Court presided over by Eric Daning ordered Baffour Awuah to submit his passport to the registry of the court until further directed for the first 14 days from today, February 4.  

He is also not allowed to travel out of the Sunyani Municipality unless with the approval of the court.

Baffour Awuah and Joseph Kyeremeh, another suspect who was also granted bail, will return to the Sunyani District Magistrate Court B on Monday, February 17, 2025. 

The former Employment and Labour Relations Minister has been charged with "abetment to commit crime, to wit murder, contrary to sec 20:(1)and 46 of criminal offenses act 1960, (act 29)."

Agyemang Duah Owusu, the third suspect who was arrested on Monday, has been remanded in police custody.
