Fire has gutted the Makola shopping mall in Accra today February 22, 2019.
The Public Relations Officer of the Ghana National Fire Service Elis Robbinson confirmed the incident to Joy News.
He said the fire basically involves a basement from the shopping mall and excessive smoke emanating from the basement is preventing firemen from entering the building.
He added that a smoke extractor has arrived at the scene to help extract some of the smoke.
Mr Robbinson says reports indicate that the fire started from a shop that deals in plastic products and that has generated a lot of smoke.
