Families of the missing Takoradi girls have stated that they will never accept any compensation from the government in recognition of their 'lost relatives'.
According to them, accepting compensation will make the government relaxed about the case and not do anything.
Speaking to Starr FM, the Spokesperson of the families of the missing girls, Michael Grant Hayford said all they want is see their missing relatives alive
''Nobody is demanding compensation from the government. We are not demanding compensation in the sense that if we are demanding compensation it means the Commander in Chief will sit down and the police can do anything anyhow. We will never accept any compensation from the government, ''he stressed.
He added that: ''We will not demand state burial or anything of that sort from government, all that we need is to see our lovely sisters.''Â
Their comments come on the back of the Information Minister's statement made earlier today at a press briefing that the government will do all they can to support the families of the girls
''It's heartbreaking to receive this news which is contrary to all our best hopes as a country. Its a shocking moment for the families and the nation at large. Government with the President has expressed condolences to the families directly and will continue to engage and provide the families with the necessary support at this stage,'' Kojo Oppong Nkrumah stated.
Also, the families reiterated their demand for international bodies to come in for an independent DNA test on the remains retrieved since they still doubt the DNA results presented by the police.
They further indicated that if it happens the second DNA appears to be that of their sisters they demand that the law should deal with every single person who played a role in the kidnapping case.

Furthermore, the families hinted on plans of hitting the streets of the Sekondi Metropolis on Monday, September 23 2019.
''There is a lot that we have discussed and we believe what the police have said is not true. We have taken a lot of decisions and God willing Monday there will be a massive demonstration against the CID boss, Interior Minister and National Security Minister''.
''We will go for the skeletons they have in their custody and we are making arrangements to the private hospital to perform another DNA test as well''.
