Man changes date of birth to cut down his age by 22 years

A man by name, Mr Yakubu Mohammed Saani believed to be a Ghanaian whose address is Tamale in the Northern Region of Ghana has caused a publication in a national newspaper to announce a change of his date of birth. 

The publication announced that the said Yakubu Mohammed Saani wishes that his date of birth is 10th May 1997 and not 10th May 1975 with effect from 25th October 2018.

According to a publication sighted by PrimeNewsGhana the publication further announce that all documents bearing his former date of birth are still valid.

From the computation of the years, thus between 1975 and 1997, the difference in years is about 22 years. This gives an indication that, the effect of the change of date of birth by said Yakubu has revised his age downwards by 22 years.



One could wonder what could trigger such a change, whether it is biological or an error on the records or the publication and for what purpose is the change to serve.
