The Ghana Police Service has confirmed the arrest of an Electoral Commission (EC) official, Dery Joseph, at the Kintampo South Constituency in the Bono East Region for alleged electoral malpractice.

According to the police, the suspect is being investigated for issuing approximately 15 ballot papers to voters at the Ampesika-Bayere polling station, which reportedly omitted the first presidential candidate on the ballot.

This incident has sparked immediate concerns about the integrity of the electoral process in the affected polling station.

Authorities have assured the public that a thorough investigation is underway and appropriate measures will be taken to ensure the credibility of the elections.
