The National Election Security Taskforce has reminded all security agency personnel to actively participate in the special voting exercise scheduled for tomorrow, December 2, 2024.
The exercise will proceed nationwide, except in the Eastern and Western Regions, where voting has been postponed.
According to the Taskforce, the Electoral Commission (EC), in consultation with political parties, decided to reschedule the special voting for the two regions due to logistical challenges.
A new date for voters in these areas will be announced within the week to ensure they have the opportunity to exercise their franchise.
The Taskforce has urged security personnel in unaffected regions to turn out in their numbers and cast their votes during the special voting exercise.
This exercise is critical in enabling personnel to perform their civic duty ahead of their deployment for election-day security duties on December 7.
The National Election Security Taskforce reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring a smooth and secure election process and appealed to all eligible voters in the security forces to actively participate in this critical democratic exercise.
